I'M A GENIUS IDOL BUT MY PASSIVE IS SUNFISH: Chapter 54

I'm a Genius Idol but My Passive is Sunfish: Episode 54

Anyway, I think we need to keep a close eye on Jihan, Yuyeon, and Minsung in upcoming music videos.

I have a feeling one of them might be the Joker.

As mentioned before, Yulmu represents love (, Clergy), and it becomes evident in the WANT ME MV.

If you look at the clothes piled on the bed, you can see a lot of heart patterns.

(Yulmu in a bathrobe screenshot.jpg)

It's too quick to notice in the video, but in a still image, you can see heart patterns embroidered on the robe.

That's all we can gather from the WANT ME MV, now onto the teaser photos.

One of DASE's comeback promotions, <DASE's Dressing Room>, features what looks like framed identification photos of the members.

Zooming in, you can see each face has a different sticker attached, hiding more hints!

First off, looking at Yulmu's face, which clearly has a Heart (), you can see a cubic heart next to a puppy sticker and a tiny spade-shaped glitter.

At first glance, it seems similar, but Yulmu's debut teaser was in colour. Since Spades only come in black cards, that's a fake.

Now let's take a look at the other members' faces!

Chung: Chick, Snowflake

Minsung: Pearl, Shell

Baekya: Peach, Cubic Droplet

Yuyeon: Butterfly, Flower

Jihan: Cubic Rectangle

Wow, this is making my head hurt!

Suddenly, I wonder if analysing stickers on their faces might be a bit overkill haha.

Honestly, my brain can't take any more.

I'll come back if there are good responses!

===========================

- This is another level of madness...

- This is what happens when smart otakus gather = ID

- Is it like a mafia game? It seems the cards are just props to reveal who the members are... We just need to find the Joker along with the members, right?

└ Well, I'm definitely a citizen. That's for sure.

- Wow... After reading this, I suddenly suspect everything

- There are cards in the WANT ME MV too! At the start of the MV, you can see a deck of playing cards on the bedside table next to where Baekya wakes up

- Didn't you say each symbol represents a season? Looking at the last stickers, Chung reminds me of winter, Minsung of summer, and Yuyeon of spring... Or is it unrelated?

└ Yulmu is Heart and represents spring

- Couldn't Jihan's cubic rectangle be seen as a Diamond depending on the angle?

└ I had the same thought haha

- I'm not smart enough to understand any of this... It's amazing to think that someone watched the same MV and came up with all these theories

- But if you look at the chessboard, it's placed kind of ambiguously, slightly askew... Could Yuyeon be a black piece then?

- I cursed ID a ton when I saw the black-and-white debut teasers, but they were drawing this picture all along... Amazing DASE...

- Doesn't the dollhouse look like the castle from the 'No Games' MV?

└ Maybe it's something like a parallel universe?!

- I'm so excited for our kids' future ㅠㅠ

* * *

For the first time in a while, Baekya had a different schedule from the other members due to one-on-one vocal training. In reality, being in the same company meant he could simply encounter the members just by opening the door.

"Baekya, your skills are improving, aren't they?"

"Thank you~"

Though the trainer was usually sparing with compliments, he seemed in a good mood today and showered Baekya with praise, leading the session to end early. However, Baekya did not immediately head down to where the members were.

[Yuyeon: Head to Practice Room B after you're done~]

Baekya saw Yuyeon's message but did not reply.

"5 minutes should be fine."

As soon as the trainer left, Baekya locked the vocal room door and quickly headed to a corner. Huddling into a corner as if hiding, the Sunfish shouted, "Status window!", and like magic, a window appeared.

"Finally…!"

Baekya thought today was the right time to spend the Star Points accumulated during comeback preparations and activities.

Current Star Points: 11

Initially, there were 12 points, but one was spent due to stress, leaving the current score.

"Still, that's a lot, right?"

Excluding the initial synchronization phase, when had there ever been such abundance? Baekya nearly teared up.

But complacency was dangerous!

Though Baekya wanted to spin all 11 points to try his luck, he knew his body was at risk of dying at any time for any reason.

[How many times would you like to proceed with the skill draw?]

Giddy at the sight of the draw window, which hadn't been seen in a while, the Sunfish boldly declared,

"8 times!"

All but three points were spent.

Let's escape the sunfish life!

The roulette spun and slowly stopped, followed by a scatter of confetti.

[Skill Acquired!]

Let's correct that—

It was more like a splash of mud.

* * *

The members were seriously worried upon witnessing Baekya in a state they had never seen before.

"I think the hamster is really sick…"

Chung, who read the mood for once, moved next to Minsung, looking dejected.

"Maybe I should go and lend some strength—"

"No. It's not like that so sit down."

Yuyeon grabbed Chung, who was about to stand up and made him sit back down. Minsung asked with a serious face,

"It's a bit strange, isn't it?"

"Yeah."

Jihan looked at Baekya, who was lying on the practice room's sofa with his back turned.

Yulmu was the first to notice Baekya. The same Baekya who had gone up to the vocal room with a bright smile had returned as a completely different person, his eyes hollow as if he had been sentenced to death.

"It doesn't seem like he's merely not feeling well like he claimed. There's clearly something going on."

They were in the middle of active comeback promotions, so it was possible that he was physically strained. However, they were certain there was another reason.

"You all saw him crying earlier, didn't you?"

Approaching to ask what was wrong, Baekya, tears welling up, soon burst into tears, repeating only the words "I'm ruined" over and over again.  Even when the bewildered members asked why he was crying, he continued to repeat that he couldn't live with the grief.

Feeling the gravity of the situation, Namkyung left the practice room in a hurry to hear the whole story from the trainer. However, it was the trainer who was more surprised to hear that.

He was smiling just fine when he was with me though? Who the hell made him cry? Just wait till I catch them.

Anger poured through the phone. The trainer ground his teeth, saying that something must have happened after the class ended, promising retribution upon the punk who was responsible. Meanwhile, the "punk" in question was sniffling and checking the status window.

A nasally whine softly filled the air.

"I'm screwed…"

It was still 'D' no matter how many times he looked. His dance skill had been downgraded.

Lv.11 Baekya (Synchronizing)

Appearance: A

Vocal: A

Dance: D

Talent: B

'How could a skill I've improved drop!?'

Trembling slightly as some rationality returned, Baekya silently seethed.

The blood, sweat, and tears shed to keep up with the members' dance skills flashed before his eyes. He didn't even remember the tears he had shed in front of the members just moments ago. At this moment, he only resented the draws he had made earlier.

Today, Baekya had drawn a total of 8 skills. There was one A and one B grade each, four C grades, and two D grades.

<Gotta Hand Out a Charm, a Lethal Charm! (A)>

: Unleashes lethally attractive charm.

Equipping this seemed like he would find himself behind bars for murder the moment he'd snap to his senses.

<Passion! Passion! Passion! (B)>

: Overcome everything with passion.

For some reason, it felt like he would need to climb a mountain.

<The Idol Who Ranked 0th in the World (C)>

: Ranked 0th on the Billboard chart.

It was a bizarre mix.

'Isn't being 0th place essentially being outside the ranking…?'

It seemed like the planner just threw together skills randomly. This skill prompted many thoughts, including the notion that it was no wonder a game with such skills would fail.

<Sky Castle (C)> — Special

: Results in moving to a new place.

This one was a bit unique. It wasn't a skill to equip but a one-time use skill that would disappear after use. Considering the current dorm was a bit cramped for six people, Baekya tried it out, but nothing happened.

<Seduction of the Sunfish (C)>

: Enhances sexiness.

Since the team already had a great sexy dynamite, Yuyeon, this one was also a pass.

<You're Naive, Huh? (C)>

: Deepens one's insights.

This being his second life and often being told he was mature for his age, this skill was deemed unnecessary.

Thus, amongst a series of duds, it might have been better if the D-grades hadn't appeared at all.

<Idol who Became a Dad (D)>

: Becomes a master of parenting variety shows.

Ignoring the content, just the name of the skill was off-putting. Baekya had no desire to become a dad or a master of parenting, especially since recent comeback activities had made him realize variety shows were not his forte.

And what followed next was the cause of Baekya's tears.

<Comatose State (D)>

: Dance moves that cause you mental disorientation.

'When was it? I remember equipping a weird talent skill for a while because I accidentally touched it…'

The past skill <Drunk on Myself (D)> in his memories.

It is said that human greed is endless, and the same mistakes are bound to be repeated. This skill not only affected Baekya's dance but also muddled his mind.

As he had the skill to boost his confidence upon looking in the mirror, the choreographer would often greatly tease him in the practice room, saying that he would believe Baekya to be the main dancer based on the look in his eyes…

Baekya closed his eyes, saying he would rather go back to those times.

'I'd tear up sometimes…'

Then, footsteps approached.

"I think Baekya's sleeping?"

"Then let's just let him sleep. We'll go to Practice Room A."

Unable to open his eyes right after hearing they thought he was asleep, he inadvertently ended up driving the members out of the practice room.

'I'm not sleeping…!'

His silent scream, of course, went unheard.

The members quietly exited the practice room, even sweetly turning off the lights for the sake of their friend's peaceful rest.

But there was a major problem.

'Isn't this… the practice room where the ghost appeared?'

The Sunfish's face rapidly turned pale. Jumping up from his spot, he rushed out, screaming,

"Take me with you!"
